Become a Referee

Want to get trained to become a referee?

Seattle Youth Soccer is always in need of new referees. This is very good experience for teenagers, helps the kids playing the game, pays well, and is something wonderful to put on a college resume.

It is a great challenge to become a good referee. Minimum age is 11 years old. Beginning referees start with the younger U10 games. Mentoring will be provided for the new referees.

Entry-level referees should consider the basic Grade 9 involvement. Grade 8 is required to referee the older Rec games.

The Washington State Soccer Referee Committee conducts referee training and licensing through clinics throughout the year. For a current listing of clinics, click the link below.
